They work well--what more to say? August 30, 2010 S. Goldstein (Vienna, VA USA) I bought two, because I always seem to need another iPhone charging cable. They work well with my iPhone 4, both with the power charging module and for syncing with my Mac. The plug fit easily into my snap-on iPhone case. The retraction mechanism is a standard pull-from-both-ends-at-once one, and it works just fine. Yes, there are squeeze-release tabs on both sides of the plug, so take care to squeeze them when removing so as not to harm your device. All-in-all a good buy.
be careful!!!! August 30, 2010 Timothy J. Molnar (State College, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased a few of those, being attracted by the price. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers---I suggest you stay away from these cables. It fried my iPod classic. I think the cables are probably pretty good but only for certain things. I don't know what those would be but I know it's not my iPod. The problem is the dock connection is not secure and tight enough in the iPod. Moving the cable, iPod or computer makes the dock connection come out, which is a very, very bad thing to do with an iPod. They need to be ejected first, of course. But the connection was broken twice and the second time was the kicker, I guess. I was doing other things, thinking I was charging my iPod when I noticed the warning box on the computer screen, letting me know I had disconnected my iPod incorrectly. Now I have a nice iPod that does nothing. Mine was an iPod Classic, 60gb. I think it was second generation. So if you have one of those, don't use this cable!!!! If you want to take a chance on which models of iPod it will work with and which ones it will fry, be my guest! But if you can do that, will you send me some money, please??Then I can replace my iPod classic. 8/30/2010
Took two times to get it right August 27, 2010 J. cheung (SF) Pros:
- Seller ships fast
- Decent customer service
Cons:
- May not actually work*
* I received the cable and the moment I opened the package, I knew immediately that it wouldn't work. Why? Because the shape of the plug of the USB wasn't even rectangular. It was slightly bent to some odd shape. For $2, I thought...eh, you get what you paid for. But I sent an email to customer service anyways telling them that my usb cord was flawed. They sent me a new cable quickly and the new cable actually worked.
So...if you are willing to take a risk and spend some time going back and forth, go for it.
If not, get something else.
DO NOT BUY (even for $2) August 23, 2010 B. Hoffman SUMMER 2010
Just bought this cord because I just got an iPOD (6th Generation with no cord).
It came loose in the shipping envelope and was dirty (probably used).
Plugged it in- Did not see the ipod at all. I was using a new cord from Radio Shack for $20 in the meantime and figured I would return the Radio Shack one when this came so I know all works.
This cord just does not see your player- no response from the computer or iPOD.
It was very fast shipping especially for regular mail (don't pay extra for faster mail) and was free ship too!
I suggest you pay a little more (as they say) and get a good cord.
update 8/23/10
I did email the company and within 15 minutes heard back and they apologized and said they would send a new one "free of charge." (I hope when they said free of charge that it will actually charge the player). I will update when I get.
Great for the price! August 22, 2010 Amy (Fort Worth) I bought this to have a spare connector. It works great, but every once in awhile it seems to not charge my iPhone. You have to make sure it is connected right, but not a big deal.
