Looks different in person but still good piece January 25, 2010 Senthilkumar Ramachandran (Orangevale, CA USA) I bought these earrings as a gift for my sister. I should the color was a little more brown than red. They still looked good with an antique look. The important thing is my sister liked it. The price was also right on amazon.
NOT GARNET January 11, 2010 txsmile79 (Edinburg, Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband got me these earrings to match the necklace. I was excited when i opened the box to find that the earrings were a brown topaz, and not red. We sent them back and specifically asked for red and again they sent us the brown ones. If you are getting these to match your necklace don't bother they wont match. Overall they are beautiful if you are looking for brown topaz.
My wife likes them but they aren't the color I was expecting January 9, 2010 T. Martin (Seattle, WA USA) I personally was disappointed with the color of the glass in these earrings: it is such a dark red that they actually look brown to me. They are definitely not the bright red pictured on Amazon.com. But I got them for my wife and she thinks they look red and she really likes the sterling detail wrapped around the glass. The earrings are a little heavier than we were thinking, but she still really likes them and they look great on her. Every time she wears them people comment on how pretty they are.
I'm giving these 4 stars because my wife really likes them and they are really pretty, but I would have preferred the brighter red as pictured on Amazon.
The idea was good........ January 7, 2010 Walknbelle (Shreveport, LA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received these as a gift along with the matching heart necklace. It was a sweet thoughtful gift from the person who gave them to me, however, I could never let them know how awful they look in person. I am glad this person lives very far away and will never see these. The color of the stones are just ugly, they are not red, they are ugly brown. I would not recommend this to anyone and wish I could get the person's money back.
Just know you're buying brown earrings January 2, 2010 Paul Miller (Bay Area, CA) These are very nice looking earrings in-hand. But, as nearly all of the other reviewers state, the color is brown all the way. If you pump enough light into them (shine a bright flashlight through them) you can see where they were thinking red, but it's still not the red you see on the picture. Ladies - don't expect to ever wear red to match these in any light. I bought them anyway because the person I was buying for looks great in brown.
