3 out of 5 stars Chair great, packaging not so great   August 22, 2008
KY woman (Fort Thomas, KY)
I ordered this chair from Amazon because I had bought one previously from another source and really liked it. The first one I ordered came in a retaped, beaten up box and the chair looked as if it had been used for a season and then returned. It had dents, scratches, rust and broken stitches. I returned it and asked for a NEW chair exchange. The second one was poorly packaged and slightly damaged, but for the price I kept it. I needed another one about three weeks later, the price was a little cheaper, so I ordered another one. I waited and waited and finally got an email saying the it was undeliverable and returned to Amazon. I get packages from UPS all the time, so I don't have a clue why it was not delivered. The email told me to reorder if there was a mistake, and when I went to the website the price had increased. So I passed on it. I'll just wait until next year and try to buy one that I can see prior to purchase. The packaging on the first one purchased in person was very strong, so I think this is the best route.

Stuart M. Nachtman

4 out of 5 stars Needs a lube and instructions   August 10, 2008
James Bowdren (Langhorne, PA United States)
The chair is a well built product and is very comfortable. The headrest pillow alternately serves as a good lumbar pillow. I did have two issues:

1) There are no instructions. The chair opens out very easily but it was not intuitive to me that the adjustment lock rings under the arm rests need to be pulled down to unlock and pushed up to lock the reclining mechanism.

2) It is a little hard to push the chair back. I turned it over and sprayed the sliding mechanism located underneath the armrests with Dupont Silicone Lubricant (found at Home Depot or Lowes). This made it MUCH easier to recline and pull the chair back up to sitting position. My 8 year old grand daughter can now easily operate the chair. It will probably need a spray once a year. I also sprayed the other hinges but I think the slide mechanism is probably the only place that really needs the lubricant.

After resolving the above minor issues I am now very pleased with the chair. Other outdoor recliners have always caused me lower back pain even with pillows. This recliner does not.

4 out of 5 stars Strathwood Deluxe Anti-Gravity Adjustable Recliner   August 10, 2008
Jamie Schulz (WA United States)
Item as listed, new.
Head rest not enough padding for me, but small pillow helps.
Lounge locks under chair arms do not stay locked and slip too easily when person moves. Would have preferred locking mechanism that STAYS locked until user disables.
Otherwise, very nice, comfortable chair.
Thank you kindly.

4 out of 5 stars Very relaxing   August 8, 2008
D. Norland (Missouri)
The lounging chair is very comfortable and has many positions. My only complaint is that you have to fix the positions BEFORE you sit in the chair. It cannot be positioned after you are in it.
I like the webbing because it is easy to wipe off and can be left outside.
It is a really comfortable, relaxing place to sit.
