The Gentle Leader SpraySense Collar uses patented SprayLogik technology to deliver a harmless burst of citronella spray to interrupt your dogs barking. It acts on four of your dog's five senses - he hears it, sees it, feels it and smells it. Citronella is a unique scent that most dogs don't normally encounter. It's non-offensive to humans yet unusual enough to distract your dog and interrupt the unwanted behavior. Shock and ultra-sonic collars attempt to reduce barking with pain. In addition to being less effective than spray, pain often increases anxiety and aggression and makes some behavior problems worse. When to use: The Gentle Leader SpraySense Collar can be used with any breed of dog that weighs 6 lbs. or more and is at least 6 months old. If your dog is smaller or younger please check first with your veterinarian. It is ideal for controlling general nuisance barking both indoors and outdoors. It is not recommended for anxiety-related barking unless specifically directed by a behavior profession. Kit contains: Spray device with on off switch, 24" adjustable nylon collar, Can of stain -free, hypoallergenic citronella spray, 6 volt battery, instruction guide, One year warranty. Additional sprays sold separately. Cornell University research found that 88.9% of dogs responded to The Gentle Leader SpraySense Collar, while only 44.4% responded to electric shock collars.

This works well for our maltese--i just wish the collar spray lasted a little longer. I also wish there was a similar device that just sprayed a a small stream of water which would be much cheaper to refill.

Wow this is an amazing product! It definately is working on my small Rat Terrier who had a ferocious bark and got into an attack mode every time he saw people (or squirrels and other animals). It has only taken a couple of sprays from the collar to curtail his annoying bark. Several weeks latter and at this point of his training, all I have to do most of the time is show the collar to him and he usually stops barking. Interestingly, it has also toned down his aggressive behavior. I detest the shock collar treatment and think it's cruel. I would never use this method on a dog that I love and consider one of my family. I'm so pleased a product has finally been produced that is so humane. I highly recommend the anti bark spray collar to everyone. BTW All my neighbors love it too. Some with big dogs have borrowed mine and liked it so much they've bought one too.

This collar had an immediate positive effect on my golden's behavior after only one spray! For the first time, I get to leave the house without hearing the relentless barking from my dog. My golden has become visibly more well behaved as it seems reluctant to bark away as it did before.

My mother has had this work for her Bichon, but for my Cairn Terrier it does not work. He just continues to bark and gets angrier as it sprays him, thinking that whatever he is barking at is causing it. Mechanically, it works fine, but I am not sure it is the thing for terriers...

I bought this product thinking it was very humane. My dog got sprayed once, after barking, and was so tramatized by the citronella spray that she ran into her crate and cowered, trembling with her tail tucked tight. I immediately took the collar off, but it took until the following morning, (the initial spray was at about 9pm), until she was herself again. I then thought that perhaps it was just the citronella scent, and so was going to try the unscented spray, but on the can it says 'don't get on eyes or skin' and all I could think of was 'hello, what do they think a dog's nose is?'. I'm now looking into ultrasonic bark control.
