This product was recommended by our vet because it has been found to have a side benefit of helping control urinary tract infections. We have a male cat that we were having a hard time controlling an infection. A new vet finally changed his antibiotic, and also told us to get this product. Just had him in for a urine test and he is doing great.

The cosequin sprinkle capsules have really helped my older (11 year old), overweight cat. I noticed his legs trembling at times when he was standing, and the vet mentioned he could develop (or may have) arthritis. Then, I found this on amazon with all the great reviews! I started adding 1 capsule, sprinkling it over his dry diet food, and immediately noticed an increase in his energy & movement (probably due to less pain, less joint swelling). Now I've been adding 2 capsules and this seems to enlivened him even more. It does not have any apparent side effects, and I love my cat dearly, and with more moving about, hopefully he can lose more weight. I recommend this product to anyone who has an older cat or overweight cat who could have joint soreness, swelling, or arthritis symptoms.

I bought a bottle of Cosequin after noticing my 12-year-old cat having trouble jumping up occasionally. I wasn't sure how she would take it, but she eats every last sprinkle off her wet food. Within about 2 weeks, she seemed to have more energy than normal, and within 2 months she was leaping onto surfaces she had never gone before! She actually became a lot more active at night, which isn't ideal if you want to sleep, but I was so pleased to see how limber she was. When I started to run out of Cosequin, I switched to every other day, eventually tapering off completely. I actually started to take her improved movement and flexibility for granted, and I didn't think it would be a huge deal if I didn't buy more. Well, it's been about 10 days since her last dose and the difference in her mobility and overall energy level is noticeable. So, I'm back online to order more Cosequin, since she is clearly confused that she can't do things she did just a few weeks ago. I've concluded that Cosequin will be a permanent part of her diet, as it definitely lets her be more active, which keeps her (and me!) happy. My vet also confirmed that it's safe for her to get a capsule every day. This time, I'll stock up!
Helped my 4-year-old Persian dramatically in only 2 weeks August 17, 2010

My 4-year-old, 8-pound, rescue kitty has dysplasia in one shoulder and arthritis in the other. The vet sent her x-rays to an orthopedic surgeon who recommended Cosequin. The day her Cosequin arrived in the mail, her limp had gotten much worse and she was running on three legs and holding her front paw up in the air.
This little Persian is a choosy eater, and I was concerned that she might not eat food with Cosequin sprinkled on it, but she likes it! She even eats it when I sprinkle it on her dry food. I find it easiest to control the dosage by sprinkling a capsule on her teaspoon of wet food, because she eats all of that at one sitting.
She has been receiving Cosequin daily for two weeks. Last night I noticed that she was running on all four legs, and I couldn't even see a limp. It was the first time since I adopted her six weeks ago that I could not see a limp! This dramatic improvement cannot be coincidence. I strongly recommend Cosequin for cats.

We've been giving this to our 15 year old cat for several years and it helps ease his stiffness of movement. He gobbles it up when we sprinkle it on his canned food. The Amazon price is less than half of what the vet charged us so we've bought from Amazon ever since the first bottle ran out.
