 Video screen malfunction after 30 minutes January 8, 2009

After opening and using the video camera for approx 30 miutes, the upper 2/3 screen had a series of horizontal lines across the screen rendering the image unusable.
Quickly replacing our digital camcorder January 8, 2009

The flip is so convenient to have everywhere, it's quickly replacing our digital camcorder. And the fact that the video on it doesn't need to be captured from the camcorder to the PC makes it so fast to share the video once it's taken so we're getting to the videos much quicker. The picture quality is surprisingly good, even when viewed on a large screen TV.
One improvement I'd look for, if there's ever a similarly priced camcorder that adds an optical zoom instead of digital, I'd probably buy a new one almost immediately. The zoomed video gets very grainy very fast, makes the zoom almost useless.
It's surprisingly good on batteries. We get at least a couple of hours of recording and transfer from every pair of AA batteries.

I really am enjoying this product.Though I bought it for work,I am using it to record all kinds of daily life events, silly to sublime. We have a great time laughing at ourselves by just plugging it in to the TV to watch. It couldn't be easier. I was not so "prepared" for the fact that it does not zoom in, so if this is a feature you need, consider something more pricey. For the money, this is a great buy.
